  26. This program began its life as a little utility that I wrote in C to
  27. check out files from Shareware CD-ROMs and BBSes. It is a big pain to
  28. manually expand 5-10 files to check them out. Hence, this little gem.
  29.  
  30. It has been a little more than a year since I made this program. I had
  31. not considered releasing this baby into the wild as I hated writing the
  32. documentation for it. I finally overcame that fear. <g>
  33.  
  34. I would be very much interested to see where this program winds up being
  35. used and who uses it. I'd appreciate an e-mail message telling me how
  36. wonderful you think this program is! <g>

  65. In order for this baby to work you need the following:
  66.  
  67. 1] Computer  [greater than a XT]
  68. 2] Keyboard  [perferably with keys]
  69. 3] Hard Disk [greater than 10 MB]
  70. 4] Monitor   [not really]
  71. 5] Decompression programs
  72. 6] Brain     [IQ greater than a vegetable]
  73. 7] Hands     [perferably with fingers]
  74.  
  75. You must have decompression programs located somewhere in your path for
  76. this program to work.

  78. I have a directory on my HD called ZIPS, where I keep all of the
  79. compression related programs. You might want to do the same.

  84. DEC <filename>
  85. Wildcards accepted.

  87. It expands archive files to individual directories. For example, if the
  88. directory contains the following files:

  90. FILE1.UC2
  91. TEST.ZIP
  92. ARCH.LZH
  93.  
  94. C:\>dec
  95.  
  96. Upon execution, the files will be decompressed by calling the
  97. appropriate decompression program.
  98.  
  99. In the above case:
  100.  
  101. FILE1.UC2 will be decompressed to: C:\FILE1\
  102. TEST.ZIP will be decompressed to: C:\TEST\ and so forth.

  104. C:\>dec *.uc2
  105.  
  106. Will decompress all the files with UC2 extentions. Ever heard of wild
  107. cards? Thought so.
